Ashleigh attended George Mason University and graduated with a degree in Anthropology, with a focus in Archaeology.  After obtaining her undergraduate degree, Ashleigh decided to pursue a career in law and attended The Columbus School of Law, The Catholic University of America.  At Catholic, Ashleigh served as an associate member of the Catholic University Law Review, and participated for two years, as both a legal intern and a student attorney, in the Columbus Community Legal Services’ Families and the Law Clinic where she helped victims of domestic violence with custody and divorce matters, obtain protective orders, and with immigration issues to include obtaining VAWA’s and U-Visas.  Additionally, she served as a volunteer on the District of Columbia’s Domestic Violence Fatality Review Board and worked with many of the District’s domestic violence and immigration coalitions. 

During law school, Ashleigh also interned for the U.S. Probation Office for the District of Columbia, the U.S. Coast Guard, Office of Environmental and Real Property Law, and the Federal Bureau of Prisons for both the Legislative and Correctional Issues Branch and the Litigation Branch.  In 2011 Ashleigh graduated from The Columbus School of Law, The Catholic University of America, magna cum laude.

After law school, Ashleigh served as a law clerk to the Honorable Craig D. Johnston in the Circuit Court for the Thirty-First Judicial Circuit for one year.  She joined Donna Dougherty Law, PC after her clerkship concluded in August 2012. 

Ashleigh has served as a volunteer with the Prince William Beat the Odds Program.
