Celebrities not immune to procedure for child abuse allegations

Virginia residents who are concerned about what may happen if they end up in a difficult battle for custody of their children may gain some insight into the experiences of others. While every family is unique and every divorce situation is unique, there are some experiences that may be shared. Certainly, concern for the well-being of children is one. When one person makes accusations of potential abuse by the other parent, specific steps may need to be taken.

Custody and guardianship of minors in Virginia

Even with the continued evolution of what constitutes a family, many people in Virginia still consider the standard nuclear family of a mother, a father and the children to be the norm. While this may be true, it is far from the only definition of a family. There are many single-parent households, blended families, same-sex marriages with children and more that make that point very clear. In addition, there are several instances in which a grandparent may be raising children instead of the biological parents. In some of these cases, the grandparents may actually have legal guardianship over their grandchildren.

Why is gray divorce so hard on women?

Are you a woman in Virginia over the age of 50 and getting divorced? Even if you are in your late 40s, you will want to take note about how a divorce may affect you financially. While divorce is seldom seen to have positive financial consequences for people, women at this stage of life may be particularly vulnerable to monetary problems after a divorce.

Divorce may follow a seasonal trend

Every calendar year is full of different seasons that Virginia residents recognize and are affected by. There are the obvious changes in weather patterns that may affect everything from what activities you participate in to what clothing you wear. You may even have a favorite type of food for different seasons. Weather aside, there are other things that provide a cadence to life and some of these are things that are not everyday events but that do affect everyday life.
